FAQs

1. Q: What is the capacity of the hall?

    A: The maximum capacity is 140 people.


2. Q: What does the rental include?

    A: It includes the whole building except the basement (twolevels + balcony and outdoor patio/fountain area).


3. Q: Is there a damage deposit?

    A: Yes.  It is $1000, and you will be returned this within 30 days after your event (provided there is no damage).


4. Q: Can I serve alcohol?

    A: Yes. A liquor license is required, and this is the renter's responsibility.


5. Q: If I rent the hall, how early can I come on the day of my event/how late can I stay?

    A. You can arrive as early as 9:00 am on the day of your rental, and leave as late as midnight on a weekday, or 1:00 am on a Friday or Saturday rental.

6. Q: If alcohol is served, what time does the bar close?

    A: The bar closes at midnight on Friday and Saturday, and 11 pm on other nights.

7. Q: Is there a kitchen in the Hall?

    A. Yes, there is a kitchen.  However it is not meant for food preparation, rather for heating up and serving of food.

8. Q: Are dishes, cutlery and glasses available?

    A: No. You must provide these yourself.

9. Q: Are there tables and chairs available?

    A: Yes, and you are welcome to use these. There are eighteen 8 foot by 2.5 foot banquet tables, six 6 foot by 2.5 foot banquet tables and thirty one 5 foot by 2.5 foot banquet tables. There are also 218 chairs.

10. Q: Are there any coffee pots available?

    A: Yes, there are two 100 cup coffee urns and one 36 cup pot.


11. Q: Are candles allowed in the hall?

    A: Yes, but there are rules on using these.


12. Q: Is there a sound system/speakers?

    A: No, this is the renter's responsibility.


13. Q: Can I have my own caterer?

    A: Yes, you can use any caterer you like (or choose not to use a caterer at all).  This is up to you.


14. Q: Do you provide catering?

    A: No.



15. Q: Is there wheelchair access?

    A: Yes, there is access to the main floor and lower level of the hall.


16. Q: Is there a delivery door?

    A: Yes.


17. Q: Can I have the fountain in the pond running during my event?

    A: The pond/fountain is operated and maintained by the City of Edmonton.  As such Whitemud Creek Homeowners Association cannot guarantee that the fountain will be running at any specific time.



18. Q: Can I come to view the Hall?

    A: You must make an appointment and you will be provided with a tour. One appointment per booking is complimentary, with a $ 30 fee for additional 15 minute appointments.


19. Q: What are the rental rates?

    A: These vary and depend on the day of the week 
and season of the year. Please see our "Rental Rates" page.


20. Q: Can we or our caterers enter the hall the day before the event to set up, or the day after our event to clean up?

    A: No, unless you rent the hall for that day as well (see our 2- and 3-day rental packages under "Rental Rates").


21. Q: How do I get to the hall?

    A: Directions are provided on this website under "Banquet Hall".


22. Q: Can I see the floor plan?

    A: Here it is (main floor).
